The head (10) has brush rollers (13, 13') rotatably supported around rotation axes (12, 12'), respectively. The brush rollers whirl away dirt into an area of a dirt whirl (15) upon rotation in a working position for cleaning a dirt surface (14). A suction channel (16) is assigned to one of the brush rollers in the area of the dirt whirl. One of the brush rollers is arranged transverse to the dirt surface and is manually height adjustable over an operating element (18). The brush rollers are controllable over a negative pressure adjustment.
