PURPOSE: Ultraviolet rays-absorbing particles are provided to be useful for cosmetic and skin formulations, and to maintain excellent UV absorption property after storage at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing ultraviolet rays-absorbing particles comprises the steps of: (a) providing at least one compound in whichλmax is in the range of 250-400 nm; (b) providing at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer 0-90 wt% and at least one multiethylenically unsaturated monomer 10-100 wt%; (c) creating miniemulsion with 20-65 wt% solid portion and average particle diameter of 80-500 nm; and (d) polymerizing at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and at least one multiethylenically unsaturated monomer.
