<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material having high α-LiAlO<SB>2</SB>content, a manufacturing method thereof, and a lithium secondary battery using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery 1 comprises a positive electrode 2, containing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode 3 containing a negative electrode active material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, and is composed of Li<SB>x</SB>Al<SB>1-y</SB>M<SB>y</SB>O<SB>2</SB>, that contains α-LiAlO<SB>2</SB>crystal as the positive electrode active material (where 0<x<1.7, 0≤y≤0.5, and an element M is a metal element of one or more kinds and which can be a trivalent ion). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
