<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a reactant gas smoothly and uniformly along the surface of a separator with a simple structure, and to improve generating efficiency in the generating surface. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 comprises a first and a second metal separators 14, 16 of rectangular shape interposing an electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 12 in between. A fuel gas passage 38 is formed between a protrusion part 36a and the first metal separator 14, and an oxidizer gas passage 42 is formed between a protrusion part 40a and the second metal separator 16.
