<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus which multiplies information even in a section inserted with a conventional synchronous pattern and is used for a digital transmission system with much improved information transmission efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The receiving apparatus is used for the digital transmission system to periodically transmit a multiplied frame in a time base by modulation data (BPSK) modulated by a phase modulation system having a constant amplitude of a symbol, and by modulation data (4096QAM) modulated by a modulation system different from the phase modulation system. The receiving apparatus is provided with a means (3) to generate a symbol string which is modulated by the phase modulation system and has the constant amplitude of the symbol, and a difference detecting means (2) to calculate the absolute value of the difference between the amplitude of the symbol of the symbol string and the amplitude of the symbol of a receiving signal. The section of the modulation data modulated by the phase modulation system and the section of the modulation data modulated by the different modulation system are identified based on an output from the difference detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
