摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the generation of a difference in a level of torque during the period of switching an operation mode in which a difference in a level of supercharging pressure is presumed to be generated, in an internal combustion engine having a plurality of turbochargers. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes the plurality of turbochargers and a control section that executes first and second operation control. In the first operation control, if a supercharging pressure step, that is, a temporary decrease of supercharging pressure, is presumed to be generated when switching the operation mode according to the state of the use of the plurality of turbochargers, during an operation control period including a period in which the supercharging pressure step is presumed to be generated, the supercharging pressure is increased to be equal to or higher than control supercharging pressure for shifting engine torque in such a state that the first torque step in which the engine torque is temporarily decreased and the second torque step in which the engine torque is temporarily increased when switching the operation mode are not generated.
