<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a natural image when viewing a TV content for a CRT, by approximating an image viewed from the front to an image on the CRT while keeping an image viewed from sideways on a liquid crystal display device, in a level of an image on a conventional device. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a characteristic curve showing a logarithmic value of display brightness of the liquid crystal display device to a logarithmic value of brightness of an input signal of the liquid crystal display device curves in an approximately fixed gradient in an area within a prescribed range, and the gradient of the characteristic curve in this area where the characteristic curve has the approximately fixed gradient is 0.8 to 0.9 in a reference front direction orthogonal to a display screen of the liquid crystal display device and is 0.65 to 0.8 in a direction forming an angle of 45° to the reference front direction of the liquid crystal display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
