PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device, which dispenses with the labor of inputting "ID" and "password" in every log-in of a user in a remote control of a home electronics terminal. SOLUTION: The terminal configured to identify the validity of a user to permit log-in includes one or more external medium insert parts and one or more information storage parts. Information recorded on a medium inserted to the external medium insertion part by the user is collated with information held in the information storage part within the terminal, and when the validity can be confirmed, the log-in of the user is permitted.
