PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided adhesive tape or sheet which is thin but has an excellent strength, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The double-sided adhesive tape or sheet 1 has the adhesive layers 1b and 1c on both sides of a substrate 1a. The adhesive layers 1b and 1c consist of acrylic adhesives comprising an acrylic polymer in which a 1-20C alkyl (meth)acrylate is a monomer main component. Each thickness of the adhesive layers 1b and 1c is 0.0005 to 0.0275 mm, and the total thickness including the substrate 1a and two adhesive layers 1b and 1c on both sides of the substrate is not less than 0.003 mm and less than 0.03 mm.
