<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of suppressing an increase in costs and generating an image signal whose dynamic range is enlarged, without making the time until imaging completion longer, and to provide an imaging method. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: a solid-state imaging device 2 for forming an accumulation image; a gain means 30 for generating a plurality of first signals SB by amplifying an imaging signal SA, based on the accumulation signal by a plurality of gain amounts; an A/D conversion means 4 (A/D converter 40) for converting the plurality of first signals SB into a plurality of digital imaging signals SC, respectively; a luminance distribution detecting means 53 for dividing the accumulation image into a plurality of regions corresponding to the amount of charges; a combination means 50 for generating a plurality of second signals, by amplifying the plurality of digital imaging signals SC by a plurality of luminance amplification amounts, respectively, and combining the plurality of the second signals with one another and generating an image signal SE; and a control means 70 for setting the plurality of gain amounts and the plurality of luminance amplification amounts, on the basis of the amount of charges accumulated for each of the plurality of regions of the accumulation image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
