<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a verification method and a verification device for a filled item in a pouch bag for accurately detecting an empty pouch bag even when it is a light, thin and opaque pouch bag. <P>SOLUTION: The verification device 10 for a pouch bag 1 is attached to a packaging device 20, a filling device, a cutting device 40, etc. for the bag 1. Heat radiation thermometers 11a, 11b, 11c for measuring the outside surface temperature of the bag and a determination process part for determining the existence of a filled item by comparing a measured temperature with a preset set temperature are provided at the downstream of the filling device/the packaging device.
