Provided is an antibody or functional fragment thereof comprising a complementarity determining region (CDR) from an antibody designated X120.545.1.1 (ATCC Accession number PTA-5803); wherein the antibody or antibody fragment binds to the STEAP-1 protein of a specified sequence. Further provided are transgenic animals that produce the antibody and antibodies coupled to various therapeutic toxins.
