The passenger-restraining device (10) has an airbag module (16) carried at the upper end in a backrest (14) of a vehicle seat (12). The airbag module has a filling gas delivering elongated gas generator (20) and an airbag (22) formed as head airbag. The gas generator is aligned in the longitudinally extending direction of the backrest. The airbag module is fastened at the upper end of a backrest frame of the backrest.
