The device (101) has an acceleration sensor system, a computing unit and a display unit (107), where values of acceleration are determined by the acceleration sensor system, processed by the computing unit and transmitted to the display unit. The display unit displays a threshold region as a Kamm's circle and values of acceleration transmitted by the computing unit. The display unit indicates concentric circles inside the Kamm's circle. The computing unit is formed by a microcontroller (105). An Universal serial busconnection and a loudspeaker are provided in the device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for measuring and indicating acceleration of a vehicle (2) a method for recognizing tilting of a vehicle (3) a method for determining vehicle load of a vehicle.
