<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by quickly displaying a thumbnail list regarding a still picture recording and reproducing device. <P>SOLUTION: When displaying a thumbnail list, a plurality of thumbnail images continuously recorded on a recording medium are simultaneously read out.
