<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a grayscale number which can be displayed, and at the same time, to secure selection time of scanning lines, when subfields are turned on or off by turns. <P>SOLUTION: One field is divided into a number Nsf of plural sub-fields and the number Nsf of sub-fields are classified into a first group having a period length formed equally divided of one field into plural Ndivs, and a second group having a period length, corresponding to plural times of the sub-field of the first group. If a number Rvir (where Rvir≥Rreal) of virtual scanning lines including the number Rreal of scanning lines is assumed, interlaced scanning is performed on the number Rvir of virtual scanning lines by the number of lines, according to the ratio of the period lengths of the sub-fields arranged in one field. When two different values obtained as division number Ndiv of the one field are compared to each other, the division number Ndiv is selected, such that a number Ys of reference interlaced scanning lines is smaller in the interlaced scanning and a selection period Trow obtained, by dividing the one field period by the product of the number Nsf of sub-fields and the number Rvir of virtual scanning lines is longer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
