<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain information on a program without using SI information of the program directly. <P>SOLUTION: A proxy server 14 converts information supplied from a display device 12, which is used to specify a program by a broadcasting station 11 serving as a distributor of the program, into program specifying information for specifying the program by the distributor of associated information on the program. Further, the proxy server 14 supplies the program specifying information obtained by conversion to a mash-up server 15, and obtains the associated information on the program obtained by a search based on the program specifying information from the mash-up server 15.
