<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical apparatus of an image forming apparatus, in which the linearity of laser light which scans a photoreceptor body is accurately adjustable. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A laser scanning unit of a copy machine is configured to scan the photoreceptor body with laser light via a second lens 34 and to form an electrostatic latent image, and has: a turning shaft 101 for adjusting the angle of the laser light incident to the second lens 34 with respect to the optical axis; and a stay 100 to which a screw member 110 adjusting the deformation of the second lens 34 in a sub scanning direction substantially intersecting with the optical axis direction by right angle by pressing, is connected.
