<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide white resin particles having a sufficient whiteness degree and to provide an image display device which is capable of displaying an image superior in contrast even when being repeatedly driven. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The white resin particles contain a rutile type titanium oxide and an optical whitening agent. The image display device has display particles enclosed between two substrates, at least one of which is transparent, in a powdery form and has the display particles moved by generation of an electric field between the substrates to display an image, wherein the white resin particles are used as the display particles.
