<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amino acid sequence analysis method detecting strongly only a b-system by labeling, when analyzing an amino acid sequence of a peptide or a protein by mass spectrometry, and also to provide an amino acid sequence analysis method holding surely a dipeptide in a column, when analyzing a hydrophilic material such as a dipeptide by using a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this amino acid sequence analysis method, an N-terminal of a peptide or a protein is reacted with 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate, to be thereby labeled, and the amino acid sequence of the labeled peptide or protein is determined by the mass spectrometry.
