<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily and safely operable valve device and its operation method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An intermediate part 11 for inseparably installing and fixing a handle 9 on and to an anti-passage 8 side end surface, is fitted to the anti-passage 8 side end surface of an auxiliary handle 10 installed in an anti-passage 8 side end part of a valve rod 4. The valve device 1 opens and closes a valve element 5 by inserting a pipe side end surface 12a of an insertion shaft part 12 inserted into the intermediate part 11 into an insertion hole 20 of the auxiliary handle 10, fitting the intermediate part 11 to the auxiliary handle 10 by fitting a projection part 13 arranged on the anti-passage 8 side end surface of the auxiliary handle 10 to a recessed groove 14 formed on a passage 8 side end surface of the intermediate part 11 simultaneously with this insertion, and also moving the valve element 5 in the parallel direction to the valve rod 4 by rotating the valve rod 4 by transmitting this torque to the valve rod 4 via the intermediate part 11 and the auxiliary handle 10 by rotating the handle 9.
