A fitting (302) for controlling the rate of flow of liquid in a conduit is disclosed. The fitting (302) has a plurality of V-shaped openings formed through the body of the fitting. The angle and initial width of each opening defines an initial flow rate of liquid through the opening to a connected pipe, as well as the change in flow rate as the level (702) of the liquid rises relative to the opening. Rotation of the body also enables adjustment of the size of said effective flow aperture as well as the level (700) of liquid which is initially able to enter the pipe. A number of fitting may be used to control the flow of liquid to a leach field through a plurality of pipes from a holding tank.
