PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating dispersant-containing water which can reduce the amount of the sludge to be generated in treatment by the flocculating setting of dispersant-containing raw water. SOLUTION: In the method for treating dispersant-containing water where dispersant-containing raw water is treated by flocculating sedimentation, the dispersant comprises at least one unit having a carboxyl group, and at least an inorganic coagulant is added to the raw water.
