摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for measuring a water flow capable of calculating the highest reaching position of a water flow running up a slope of a bank, and using it for prediction of generation of an overflow. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The water flow measuring system 100 measures the flow rate V1 of a water flow running up a slope 201 of a bank 200 by an electromagnetic flow rate sensor 40 fixed on the slope 201, and calculates the highest reaching position P1 of the water flow based on data of the flow rate V1. Accordingly, the system is capable of predicting generation of an overflow. A main body housing 41 comprising electrical components such as detection electrodes 43, 43, an excitation coil 44 and a measurement circuit unit 45, which is a main part of the electromagnetic flow rate sensor 40, is covered with a mount type housing 50 made of a metal, thereby the durability of the electromagnetic flow rate sensor 40 is improved.
