PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide display particles for an image display device which are superior in memorizability and repeatedly display an image with relatively high contrast, and the image display device including the display particles. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the display particles which are used in the image display device wherein display particles are enclosed in a powdery form between two substrate, at least one of which is transparent, and the display particles are moved to display an image by generation of an electric field between the substrates, wherein the display particles contain positively charged display particles and negatively charged display particles, and at least one display particles are coated with positively charged inorganic fine particles and negatively charged inorganic fine particles.
