PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock improving straddling force and instantaneous force when a wearer runs or walks to enhance athletic ability. SOLUTION: The sock 1 has the following structure: a cylindrical first toe-holding part 3, an almost ring-shaped heel-locking part 4, a first connection piece 5 connecting the first toe-holding part 3 and the heel-locking part 4, a slide-preventing piece 6, and a toe-covering part 7 are formed to serve as a strongly tensional force part 2 structured so as to have stronger tensional force than that of other parts. With such a structure, the first toe is pulled from the back side of the foot held by the first toe-holding part 3 via the heel-locking part 4 and the first connection piece 5, and the force is applied so as to make the first toe face the inside in a direction opposite to the direction of the other four toes when the sock is put on.
