PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable working machine capable of damping twisting vibration, also reducing its production cost and making the following property of working tools such as a blade, etc., to an engine well. SOLUTION: In this portable working machine, the twisting vibration occurring on the drive shaft 5 can be damped, since the part of a linear drive shaft is constituted by a flexible shaft 51 also as compared with conventional ones in which the constitution of a coupling part joining the engine with the drive shaft 5 becomes complex, the whole of the constitution can be simplified to reduce the production cost, since the part of the drive shaft 5 is constituted by the flexible shaft 51, and in addition, since only the part of the drive shaft is constituted by the flexible shaft, as compared with the conventional ones constituting the whole of the drive shaft by the flexible shaft, the amount of twist of the driving shaft on accelerating or decelerating the engine can be reduced to be able to make the following property of the drive shaft to the engine and as a result, the following property of the working tools to the engine well.
