<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible meshing-type gear device requiring the deformation of an external gear in which a deflection stress due to the deformation of the external gear is suppressed as mush as possible and transmission torque is improved, further enabling more efficient design of the flexible meshing-type gear device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The flexible meshing-type gear device 100 comprises an internal gear for reduction having rigidity (internally toothed gear) 130A, an external gear 120A having flexibility capable of being internally meshed with the internal gear for reduction (internally toothed gear) 130A, and an exciter 102 which implements the internal meshing of the internal gear for reduction (internally toothed gear) 130A and the external gear 120A by deflecting the external toothed gear 120A at its own outer periphery. The external periphery of the exciter 102 has a shape connecting circular arcs FA, SA having two different curvature radii R1, R2, and a tangential line T at a connecting portion A of the circular arcs FA, SA is common.
