<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency by reducing ventilation resistance when air flows inside of an electric motor and to extend lifetime by effectively cooling a brush of the electric motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This electric blower includes the electric motor 2 opening at one end and including a rotor 6 and a stator 8 at an inside thereof, at least a pair of brush parts 10 sliding on the rotor 6, a housing 3 holding the electric motor 2 and the brush part 10, a rotary shaft 5 provided on the rotor 6, a centrifugal fan 12 attached to the rotary shaft 5, a diffuser 14 leading air discharged from the centrifugal fan 12 to an air duct in the housing 3, and a fan casing 13 attached to the housing 3 to cover the centrifugal fan 12 and the diffuser 14. A projection part 3a projecting toward an outer circumference side is formed at an opening side of the housing 3. An opening part 21 discharging air is formed on the projection part 3a. The opening part 21 is not provided on the air duct in which the brush 10 is not positioned out of air ducts formed out of an outer circumference of the stator 8 and an inner diameter of the housing 3.
