The method involves receiving three-dimensional medical image data e.g. computed tomography scan image, and automatically identifying a suspicion region i.e. lesion candidate, within the medical image data. The medical image data is pre-rendered into a sequence of two-dimensional images by utilizing a rendering computer. The sequence of pre-rendered two-dimensional images is stored in a storage archive/medium i.e. picture archiving station database, and is displayed on a display device that is arranged distinct from the rendering computer. An independent claim is also included for a computer system comprising a program storage device.
