<p>The method involves storing nitrogen oxide of exhaust gas supplied from an internal combustion engine, and selectively catalyzing and reducing the nitrogen oxide of the exhaust gas supplied to a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic converter. A regeneration stage is triggered based on a state variable value and state characteristic of an exhaust gas after-treatment device. The regeneration stage is triggered by selectively considering a standard state variable based on an aging state of a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter. An independent claim is also included for an exhaust gas after-treatment device comprising a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic converter.</p> |
