PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting circuit of a hot-cathode discharge tube capable of reducing the number of parts, and making a mounting area smaller by integrating and compounding, and achieve miniaturization of a device and the circuit by integrating a winding for synchronizing and fault detection in a transformer portion for a heater occupying a large area in the circuit. SOLUTION: A transformer for discharge and the winding for the fault detection are integrally constituted with the transformer part for the heater. That is, in the hot-cathode discharge tube lighting circuit to light the plurality of hot-cathode discharge tubes by applying a heater voltage to respective electrodes of the plurality of hot-cathode discharge tubes via the heater transformer and applying an output voltage of an inverter transformer to the electrode of the plurality of hot-cathode discharge tubes, the heater transformer of the respective hot-cathode discharge tubes includes a tertiary winding.
