<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organic/inorganic composite composition excellent in dissolvability of a thermoplastic resin and high in transparency by means of a simple way. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There are disclosed an inorganic powder including inorganic fine particles having a 1-15 nm particle size, on which at least one of an organic acid and an inorganic acid is adsorbed; the method for producing an organic/inorganic composite composition comprising a step of preparing an inorganic particle dispersion liquid by dispersing the inorganic powder in an organic solvent, and a step of mixing the dispersion liquid with a thermoplastic resin; an organic/inorganic composite composition; a molding obtained by molding the organic/inorganic composite composition; and an optical component such as lens base materials constituted by including the organic/inorganic composite composition.
