<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that even when the ink temperature does not follow a change in environmental temperature, as a correction for deviation of a striking position is performed, a useless correcting operation is performed and a useless consumption of the ink and down time of an apparatus are generated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When an adjusting pattern 400 for detecting the deviation of a striking position is formed on a conveying belt 31, and is read by a pattern reading sensor 401 carried on a carriage 23, and based on the reading result, the correcting operation for correcting the deviation of the striking position of liquid droplets from a recording head 24 is performed, if a difference between the environmental temperature detected by a first temperature detecting means 801 and the ink temperature detected by a second temperature detecting means 802 is not larger than a first specified value, the correcting operation is executed, but the difference exceeds the first specified value, no correcting operation is performed.
