PURPOSE:To reduce the shape defect like as the edge wave, the center buckle, etc., and to make the rolling mill to hardly cause the edge drop phenomenon, by loading the tension on the material to be rolled parallelly to the rolling direction, and also, by forward and backward offsetting a couple of work rolls parallelly to the rolling direction of the material to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:A couple of upper and lower work rolls 3, 3', are relatively displaced by forward and backward offsetting by only epsilon relatively and horizontally; and the rolling work is carried out under the condition that tensions Tb, Tf, are loaded on the sheet material 11; hereby, the zone C in which the sheet material 11 is rolled by the work rolls 3, 3', and the zones A, B, where the sheet material 11 receives the stretch bending by the tensions Tb, Tf, are obtained. That is, the zone A in which the sheet material 11 receives the stretch bending by the back tension Tb, and the zone B where the sheet material 11 is bent along the surface of the lower work roll 3' by the front tension Tf, are generated; the sheet material 11 in these zones A, B, causes breadthways uniform stretch by the effect of the straightening machine. |
