<p>The collapsible movable dwelling e.g. camping compartment, comprises a vertically telescopic arrangement of two box sections (5, 6) using a hand wound rack and pinion mechanism to elevate the roof box. A chain wheel (8) with crank handle is mounted centrally on a gable wall of the floor box (5), chains (7) extending laterally to drive a shaft (2) on each side. The shafts are mounted on the inside of the top longitudinal edges of the floor box, each having a pinion (3) at each extremity, and the pinions meshing with vertical racks (1) mounted on the walls of the roof box (6). Alternatively single central racks may be used on each wall, supporting the nodes of pin-jointed 'X' frames on which the roof is mounted. An awning extension is hinged to a gable end, and extendable seating is providing with pin-jointed legs.</p> |
