The spring accumulator brake cylinder as in the main patent is for a compressed air brake unit for vehicles. The brake rod is moved by the pressure of a spring and the compressed air alternatively and is connected to a tubular piston rod joined to a brake piston. On the tubular piston rod (19) is a shoulder (15) of V-shaped cross-section which projects inwards. In the groove (28) thus formed is a stop ring (29) which in turn projects over the outer dia. of the piston rod.
