PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To list purchased contents in a content list screen or the like whether or not they have been downloaded. SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus acquires metadata and thumbnails about contents (programs) that a user wants to purchase from corresponding servers, and records them. Once the metadata and thumbnails are acquired about all the purchased contents, upon the user's predetermined operation of an operation device, menus are created from the metadata about all the purchased contents and a content list screen 610 is displayed. The content list screen 610, which displays the menus of all the purchased contents, displays menus 611 of downloaded contents and menus 612 of contents yet to be downloaded in a distinguishable manner.
