<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively execute activation without needing a physical medium such as a USB memory. <P>SOLUTION: A composite machine 1 has: a Web browser 1a accessing a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a Web server 2a corresponding to each option function, and acquiring an activation key of the option function from the Web server 2a; and an activation processing part activating the option function based on the activation key acquired by the Web browser 1a.
