<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus for a user to easily rearrange a plurality of originals in order of page when a plurality of originals not arranged in order of page are read. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Five originals are set to an original feeder (S11). The original feeder conveys five originals to a read position one by one. An image read part reads images of the five originals conveyed to the read position one by one (S12). A control unit extracts page numbers from the images of the read five originals (S13), determines whether the extracted page numbers are arranged in order among the five originals (S14), and when it determines that they are not arranged in order (YES at S14), notifies information for rearranging the five originals in order of page number (S15).
