<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vent valve easy in mounting work with a small installation space and reduced in installation attitude restriction, and capable of easily adjusting energization for valve closing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vent valve includes a body having a connection port connected to a drain pipe and a vent hole for introducing outside air into the drain pipe, and a valve element which can open and close the vent hole and can be opened by the negative pressure of the drain pipe. The body and the valve element are provided with a pair of elements, namely, a magnet and a magnet or the magnet and a magnetic substance, respectively, for generating magnetically repulsive or attractive forces to close the vent hole by the valve element.
