<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permeable dam of flexible structure installed comparatively easily at a low cost in a ravine, or the like, between mountains with the frequent occurrence of boulder flow, without requiring a large-scale foundation work and moreover, stopping rocks and large trees flowing down as the boulder flow through wetlands and the ravine between the mountains due to a torrential rainfall, or the like, to surely guard the rocks from flowing out downstream. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the permeable dam installed in the ravine or a river between the mountains, the ends of main ropes 2 stretched to intercept the flow of the river are anchored to the sidewalls of both banks, and a plurality of vertical ropes 6 are arranged at lateral spaces. The upper end of each vertical rope is connected to the main rope, and the lower end is anchored to the riverbed. Below the main ropes, a plurality of lateral ropes 7 stretch at vertical spaces, and the ends of these lateral ropes are anchored to the sidewalls of both banks; and the intersecting parts of the lateral ropes and vertical ropes are connected and form a net-like structure.
