PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an amount for drawing a sealing agent and improve yield and reliability. SOLUTION: A counter substrate 10 for a display panel is provided with: a first substrate and a second substrate which are bonded together at a prescribed interval; a photo-curable sealing material 12 which is provided at a substrate periphery part between the first substrate and the second substrate; a light-shielding layer 13 which is formed, with a prescribed width, from the substrate end of the first substrate in the area in which the sealing material 12 is provided; and an aperture part 14 which is formed by removing the light-shielding layer 13 toward the center of the substrate from a position apart by a prescribed distance from the substrate end.
