<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric for a filter excellent in dimensional stability and having high filter performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fabric for a filter is a nonwoven fabric in which a polyphenylene surfide short fiber is oriented in a fixed direction on a surface of the fabric and a part of the short fiber is entangled each other in a thickness direction of the fabric.
