<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing etching components which prevent bending of a thin sheet metal even when etching the thin sheet metal while conveying the sheet metal, and are free from shape defects, such as breakage, wrinkles, twists, etc., in the sheet metal with through-patterns formed thereon. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sheet metal 1 is held from below and is subjected to etching in order to prevent the deflection M of the sheet metal between conveyance rollers 40 of a conveying device for horizontally conveying the sheet metal by holding the sheet metal from below and subjecting the sheet metal 1 to etching by holding the sheet metal from below, with a holding member of a plate-like material which is an endless belt, using the belt in a rinsing step right after etching.
