The hinge arrangement for a window consists of individual units attached to all four corners so that the window may be swung about a vertical or horizontal axis. Each accordingly incorporates both vertical and horizontal hinge elements. These include a vertical locking rod which can be fitted into and removed from a vertical locating hole by swinging a latch arm about a horizontal axis. This arm is held in its operating position by a spring mounted around a second spindle parallel to and behind the horizontal part of the hinge pin. This arm is a rectangular platenearly the size of the mounting plate, with a square hole through it for access to an operating button on the mounting plate.
