A method and apparatus for providing a gliding board binding (1), such as a snowboard binding. The binding may include an adjustment indicator (16) that allows for determination of a longitudinal position (54) of the base (2) relative to a gliding board, heel-to-toe position (55) of the base relative to a gliding board and/or an angular position (56) of the base relative to a gliding (10) board when the base is secured to the gliding board. A gliding board may include a channel (103) for mounting a binding that is arranged in the board core (104) so that no portion of the board core is located on top or bottom sides of the channel, and instead so the top (105) and bottom (106) reinforcement layers are located above and below the channel.
