A frequency hopping method for downlink dedicated pilot frequency includes for the downlink dedicated pilot frequency, according to the identifier of the cell in which it exists, determining the frequency hopping offset corresponding to the downlink dedicated pilot frequency (S202); according to the frequency hopping offset of the downlink dedicated pilot frequency and the location of the relative frequency domain in which it exists, determining the frequency domain location of the downlink dedicated pilot frequency in the physical resource block in which it exists after frequency hopping (S204); and performing the resource mapping for the downlink dedicated pilot frequency in the whole frequency domain according to the determined frequency domain location (S206). A base station is used to realize the frequency hopping of the downlink dedicated pilot frequency.
