An illuminating device (12) is provided with a light source (17), a chassis (14) which covers the light source (17), and a mat-like buffering member (70) disposed between the light source (17) and the chassis (14). The illuminating device is characterized in that the buffering member (70) is composed of a gel-like material. Thus, the buffering member (70) prevents vibration from being propagated from the light source (17) to the chassis (14), thereby suitably preventing or suppressing occurrence of beating sounds.
