Streptokinase polysaccharide deriv. of formula (I), contg. 10-20 wt.% protein is new (where NH-streptokinase is native stretokinase; x is 100-1000). (I) have thrombolytic properties equal to those of native streptokinase. The optional dose is over 100000 lu/kg. (I) is no more toxic than native streptokinase and is well tolerated in amts. 50-100 times the max. therapeutic doese. (I) has increased stability, reduced antigen properties, increased circulation time in the blood stream and prolonged fibrinolytic properties compared to native streptokinase. In addn. the allergising potential of (I) is low. Doses are lower and the effectivity of the thrombolytic therapy is increased. (I) can be used to treat acute thromboembolia, and thromboses of lung arteries, brain blood vessels, peripheral arteries (before gangrene has developed), thrombophlebitis, thromboses of peripheral veins, acute myocardiac infact, thromboses of central veins or arteries of the retina.
